Cédric Cayla is President and Chief Executive Officer of Brightstone Financial Group and President of 1642 Capital. 

An accomplished wealth management professional, Cédric works with international families to meet their investment needs and objectives. Over more than 15 years, he has built broad experience across the financial sector, including capital allocation, corporate development and trust services. A Montrealer by origin, Cédric spent close to a decade in Europe building 1642 Capital’s global reach and vision. When he is not spending his free time with family, Cédric pursues his passions for French wine, independent cinema and basketball.

Mark D’Souza is Chair of the Board of Brightstone Financial Group and 1642 Capital.

Mark is a seasoned financial executive, with over a decade in wealth management and, before that, more than 20 years in corporate finance, including several years at Quebecor in Canada and in Europe. He sits on the boards of several corporations and non-profit organizations. He holds an LL.B. from Université de Montréal and an MBA (Finance) from HEC Montréal, and completed the Directors Education Program (DEP) at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. With an appetite for learning, Mark loves to travel and to share his taste in music and film with those close to him. His true passion, however, remains his family. Nothing makes him happier than the prospect of a weekend in the country with his children and grandchildren, his greatest pride.

Michael Keenan is Chief Investment Officer of 1642 Capital.

Michael is a seasoned investment professional with over twenty-five years of institutional funds management experience. Prior to joining 1642 Capital, Michael spent over twenty years with Bimcor Inc, which is the pension investment subsidiary for the Bell Canada group of companies, including seven years as Chief Investment Officer.  He is a past Chair of the Pension Investment Association of Canada and sits as an independent advisor on several investment committees for pension and trust organizations.  Michael is a CFA charter holder with a B. Arts & Science (Economics) from McMaster University and an M.A. (Economics) from Western University.  Michael believes that independence, discipline, and humility are key ingredients for long-term investment success.

Félix manages the complex investment needs and goals of families while integrating their long-term vision. Drawing on more than 15 years of consulting and wealth management experience, Félix leverages his deep expertise in strategic investment review, capital allocation, and private markets. He has developed this expertise working with families, foundations, pension plans, financial institutions, as well as religious congregations and First Nations communities. Félix holds the CFA charter and a B.A. & Sc. in Mathematics and Statistics from the Université de Montréal. Naturally curious and a dedicated father, Félix loves to travel, learn, and stay active in sports.

Guillaume brings more than ten years of experience in wealth management. He joined the firm in 2022, after four years with Archer Wealth Management as Director of Operations and Portfolio Manager. Before that, he spent five years at Claret Asset Management as a quantitative analyst, working in backtesting, portfolio management, trading and performance measurement. Guillaume is a CFA charterholder and holds a Master’s in Finance from Université de Sherbrooke. He believes discipline is essential to reaching any long-term investment objective, and brings the same approach to skiing, tennis and running.

Philip joined 1642 Capital in 2026 as part of the Investment Team, where he supports with activities related to portfolio construction, investment manager selection and monitoring, and portfolio operations. Prior to joining 1642 Capital, Philip spent nearly five years at Fiera Capital, holding various roles within the Public Markets CIO Office, the Total Portfolio Solutions Team, and the Global Distribution Team. Philip is a CFA charter holder and holds a Master’s degree in Finance from HEC Montréal, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bishop’s University. Analytical by nature, Philip enjoys traveling, experimenting with new recipes, and spending quality time with his family.

Samuel Rousseau holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master’s in Finance from Université de Sherbrooke, with a particular interest in portfolio construction and strategic financial analysis. He joined the team during his applied master’s project, first as an intern, then as a consultant once his degree was completed, before moving into an analyst role. Beyond his technical expertise, Samuel stands out for his curiosity and his personable nature. A fan of board games and travel, he values genuine connections, time with friends and moments shared with family.

Carmela Pansera brings more than 20 years of experience in financial operations and client service, working with hedge funds, institutional clients and private wealth clients. She specializes in account administration, operational process improvement and service excellence. A Bachelor of Commerce graduate of Concordia University, Carmela is known for her precision, her responsiveness and her solutions-driven approach.

Kyle brings over five years of experience in financial services and operations. Before joining 1642 Capital in 2023, he held a Senior Administrator role at CIBC. Day to day, he ensures the smooth running of the processes that support our clients’ wealth management. Outside of work, Kyle is a keen volleyball, rugby and softball player, and an avid reader.

Honseenta is a lawyer by training, holding a Licentiate in Law (LL.L) and a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Ottawa. A member of the Law Society of Ontario, she brings more than 10 years of experience in the financial sector, where she has held a range of roles and developed expertise in compliance, regulation, governance and risk management. Honseenta likes to spend her free time immersed in a good book or out on long walks.

Mason is a business-minded legal advisor who supports the broader group on commercial, corporate, trust, fiduciary, structuring, governance, regulatory, and strategic matters. He works closely with leadership and client-facing teams to assess opportunities, solve complex issues, and implement practical, commercially reasonable solutions. Mason holds a B.A. from McGill University, an LL.B. and J.D. from Université de Montréal, and is a member of the Barreau du Québec. Outside the office, Mason is into travelling, playing guitar, and catching live shows, in addition to waterskiing, hitting the gym, or tackling a home improvement project. When he’s not doing any of that, you’ll likely find him manning the BBQ.

Before joining the team, Guillaume spent more than seven years in senior finance roles within the securities industry, including Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. A CPA and a graduate of HEC Montréal, he specializes in financial management, internal controls, regulatory compliance and the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP). His command of IFRS/ASPE accounting standards, risk management and governance allows him to support our clients in the prudent and transparent management of their wealth. A keen cyclist, Guillaume spends his free time away from the numbers, riding the roads and trails of Quebec.

Cynthia ensures the accuracy of our accounting operations: invoice processing and verification, bank reconciliations, supplier payments and account monitoring. Her consistency and attention to detail are central to how smoothly the team runs. Outside the office, you will find her cooking, out for a walk, or in good company with her dog.

With us since 2023

A graduate in Paralegal Technology since 2019, Alyssa first put her training to work as a paralegal. Her path then led her to explore new professional avenues, and she now holds a receptionist role where she draws on her organizational sense and her communication skills. Alongside her career, she devotes herself to writing. An accomplished author, she has three published novels to her name, a fourth forthcoming, and several other literary projects in progress.

Member of the Investment Committee

A CFA charter holder and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, Mr. Gravel held several positions at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec: Senior Vice-President, Canadian Equities, until 2009, and then Executive Vice-President, Equity Markets, within the institution’s investment management group until 2018. Mr. Gravel was also a member of the Executive Committee and sat on the Investment-Risk Committee before serving as Strategic Advisor to the President.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Santé Québec. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Montréal Exchange from 1995 to 1998, and of the International Financial Centre of Montréal (IFC Montréal) from 2010 to 2016. He has served on the Boards of Directors of Énergir and First Eagle Holdings.

Mr. Gravel holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa and a B.Sc. from the University of Sherbrooke.

Member of the Investment Committee

Mr. Sam Reda, CFA, is a member of multiple boards and investment committees, and acts as a strategic advisor to several organizations.

He sits on various boards, including both private companies and not-for-profit organizations, and serves on several investment committees representing both institutional investors and family offices. Notably, he is the Chair of the Investment Committee for the Concordia University Employee Pension Plan. With over 40 years of experience in investment management, Mr. Reda has held senior leadership positions at prominent money managers, including first vice-president and partner at TAL Global Asset Management, President and Chief Operating Officer at Natcan Investment Management, Executive Vice President at Fiera Capital, and Chairman of the Board at Triasima Portfolio Management. He is the President of Maralex Capital Inc., a firm he founded in 2011 that provides strategic advisory services, and also the Co-founder of Alpha CCO. Mr. Reda holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder. He has also completed the Directors Education Program, offered jointly by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Board Member and member of the Investment Committee

Bill Healy is an investment professional, corporate director, and strategic advisor. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of 1642 Capital, as well as an Investment Committee member for family offices, providing oversight on investment policy design, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and manager selection.

With over 35 years of experience in investment counseling and portfolio management, he has invested extensively in both public and private markets. Throughout his career, Bill has held several senior roles, including serving as Senior Consultant at Prime Quadrant and as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Experience Officer at Portfolio HiWay. He also co-founded Patrimonica Asset Management Inc., the investment arm of a multi-family office based in Montreal, where he served as President and Chief Investment Officer. Previously, he was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at TAL Private Management Inc. and McLean Budden Ltd., managing portfolios for wealthy families, family offices, foundations, endowments, and corporate pension plans. Bill holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Concordia University and a Master of Science in Financial Economics from the University of London. He is a CFA charterholder and has been actively involved with the Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management Program at Concordia’s John Molson School of Business since its inception in 2000.
